Skin Care Resolutions to Make in 2019

It’s the time of the year when people make changes in their lives for the better like exercising more often or quitting a nasty habit. However, we think that skin care should also be a part of your New Years’ Resolution. Our skin is the largest organ in our body so it’s only right that we take better care of it right? Here are our top 5 skin care resolutions to make and keep in 2019.

1. Prioritize Getting Enough Sleep: No matter how much exercise you get or how clean you wash your face, if you’re not getting enough sleep, your body and your skin won’t probably look their best. According to National Sleep Foundation teenagers to older adults (64+) need about 7-9 hours of sleep each night. But everybody is different so plan to have the optimum sleep each night. Binging on your TV shows and not getting enough sleep isn’t worth it.

2. Eat Better Foods: We know that life sometimes get busy and snacking seems like the alternative to eating healthier foods. For obvious reasons, eating less processed foods and opting for more organic and well-prepared meals do wonders for the body and your skin. For this year, try foods that are high in omega 3 fatty acids such as salmon and other fish varieties. For Vitamin C, opt for avocados, tomatoes, and broccoli. To make it easier, if it grows naturally, it’s probably good for the body.

3. Stay Protected: Use sunscreen. A good way to do this is by getting a moisturizer that has SPF protection in its ingredients. You hydrate and protect your skin at the same time. Easy, next!

4. Exfoliate: We say this often but it is really good advice. People don’t usually think they need to exfoliate because nature will do it anyway. But sometimes, dead skin cells can block out pores which causes break outs so it’s good to help your skin out by exfoliating. Chemical peels are great exfoliators. Try Perfect Image’s 7-Sample Pack if you aren’t sure which peel is right for you. Perfect Image’s Microlumina Exfoliating Scrub is also a good exfoliator since it has Dead Sea salt, Kaolin clay, and volcanic sand as a part of its ingredients. If those ingredients don’t make you want to exfoliate, I don’t know what will.

5. Be Grateful: Mind and body go together. Exercising a healthier and happier outlook in life will show outwardly. Glow from the inside and you will be the most attractive person not only to the people around you but to yourself as well. Be your best lover this year and every year.
